Anxiety
"You don't have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting them control you." - Dan Millman

Our thoughts can be powerful, profound, and innovate - but they can also be negative and self-destructive. My goal is to help reduce not only negative thoughts, but to work together on seeing how they are connected and impacting one's emotions and behaviors. It is important to develop an awareness of the "whole picture" in being able to see those aspects of life that one is able to control, while also seeing those parts that are beyond one's control. While developing this comprehensive picture of oneself, we will work on also being able to see where the focus of one's thoughts and emotions are: on those parts of life that you can or can not control.

Depression
"You don't know why you're exhausted? You're fighting a war in your head every single day. If that's not exhausting, I don't know what is." - Unknown

Depression can be overwhelming, unbearable, and debilitating on each and every aspect of one's life. It can also be lurking in the background and not "severely" impacting you on a daily basis. Whichever the case may be, it can always be beneficial to develop more tools for one's toolbox in dealing with both situational and long-term depressive feelings. I utilize the tools that I have attained through my experience and training to provide you with strategies that are specific to each individual rather than utilizing a strictly manualized approach. I believe that each person is unique and comes with their own set of life experiences, thoughts, and feelings and that finding the best path to move forward comes from tailoring the treatment accordingly to you
Relationships
"Every relationship has got voice if only you got the ears to listen." - Anne Nwakama

Relationships in all parts of life can play a role on our psychological well-being. Often individuals attribute negative thoughts and feelings strictly to romantic relationships, but interpersonal and family relationships can play just as much a role on your current state of mind and mood. I believe it is important to see not only the role of how others impact you, but also how you impact their lives as well. Often our perceptions and beliefs can be inaccurate and lead to assumptions that may or may not have truth behind them so it is essential to try to separate those assumptions from actual situations, events, and experiences.
Job Stress
"The struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Don't give up." - Robert Tew

Stress at work can take a toll on your relationships, lifestyle, and physical health - but that doesn't have to be the case. While we do typically spend most of our waking hours at our jobs, it is important to incorporate that heavily discussed but less actually applied word: balance. We will work together on understanding where you can make time for your interests, hobbies, and passions while not neglecting or negatively impacting your job responsibilities. We will work on approaching this balance by looking at both the whole picture along with details of each part of life as that is one of the most vital balances to strive to comprehend.
Trauma
"Trauma creates change you don't choose. Healing creates change you do choose." - Michele Rosenthal

Having a space that is safe and allows you to work on creating this change is one of, if not the, most vital part of working through past traumatic experiences. Trauma can play a strong role on an individual not only when they have been directly impacted by a negative event, but also through many different indirect mediums. In the current digital age, we are often inundated with an overwhelming amount of information, news, and social media. This can play a role on our mental health that often goes unnoticed as each "bit" of information continually builds upon one another. This goes along with the unfortunate fact that we all experience loss in life, and regardless of how it may arise it will undoubtedly shape our paths moving forward. I strive to work on helping navigate this path, and let it is exist rather then dictate how you live your life.
Adolescent Therapy
"Today I will do what others won't, so tomorrow I can do what others can't" - Unknown

Adolescence can be one of the most challenging parts of life due to so many factors including biological changes, additional responsibilities, and navigating that fine line of still being a "child" while rapidly approaching becoming an adult. There is often a struggle to find a sense of independence while acknowledging that one still relies on their parents or caregivers to provide basic financial necessities such as food and shelter. I believe it can benefit any teenager to have an objective and judgement-free space where they can talk about anything and everything that may be on their mind and going on in their lives.
